1. Summary
ATHEON Workout Tracker ("ATHEON", "the app") is a local-first, offline workout tracker. All of your data stays on your own device. ATHEON has no backend server, no cloud storage, no synchronization, and no user accounts or login. We do not collect, transmit, or receive your personal data, because there is nowhere for it to go — everything lives on your device, except when you explicitly choose to export data from the app.
This policy is written to be aware of the EU/EEA General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR / Data Protection Act 2018, and to give US users a clear baseline. It is not a substitute for certified legal advice.
2. What data ATHEON stores (on your device only)
ATHEON stores the following locally, in a SQLite database or app storage on your device:
- Workout programs you create.
- Workouts and workout logs — sets, reps, weights, timestamps, notes, and completion details.
- Workout history and progress history derived from your logs.
- GPS run data — GPS routes, location samples, pace, distance, duration, timestamps, and run history recorded while you track a run.
- App settings, including your local notification preferences.
- Your locally stored profile name and optional locally stored profile image.
That is the complete list. ATHEON does not introduce any other data category.
3. Where your data lives
- All data is stored in a SQLite database or app storage on your device.
- The data never leaves your device unless you explicitly use an export feature. It is not uploaded, backed up to a cloud by ATHEON, synchronized across devices, or shared with us or any third party.
- Exported data leaves the device only when you explicitly export it and choose where to save or share the resulting file.
- We, the publisher, have no access to your data and cannot read, retrieve, or restore it.
4. What ATHEON does NOT do
To be explicit, ATHEON does not:
- Use a backend server, remote API, or cloud storage.
- Provide synchronization across devices.
- Provide user accounts, login, or authentication.
- Collect your email address or any account identifier.
- Use analytics, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs.
- Use advertising or advertising identifiers.
- Share, sell, or transfer data to any third party.
- Send remote (push) notifications. Notifications are local, on-device only.
If any of these were ever added in a future version, this policy would be updated before that change ships.
5. Notifications, GPS location, and haptics
- Local notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device based on your settings. No device token, identifier, or notification content is sent to us or to any push provider.
- GPS location is used only while recording a run, including when run recording continues with the screen off or in the background. GPS data is stored locally to calculate and display your route, pace, distance, duration, and run history. GPS data is never transmitted to MCVC.
- Haptic feedback is used purely for user-experience feedback and involves no data collection.
6. Legal basis and your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR)
Because ATHEON does not collect or process personal data on any system we control, there is no central processing for us to act on. In practice:
- You are in sole control of your data. It exists only on your device or in files you explicitly export.
- Access / portability: your data is directly available to you within the app, in the local SQLite database on your device, and through the app’s explicit export features.
- Rectification: you can edit or correct your programs and logs at any time in the app.
- Erasure: you can delete your data at any time (see Section 7).
There is no data controller-held copy of your data to request, export, or delete on our side, because none exists. If you have questions, contact support@mcvc.dev. EU/UK users retain the right to contact their local data protection authority.
7. Deleting your data
You are in full control of deletion:
- Delete individual items (programs, logs, or history items) within the app.
- Clear all app data via your device's app settings.
- Uninstall ATHEON — this removes the local SQLite database and associated app data from your device, subject to your operating system’s normal backup and deletion behavior.
Because all data is local, uninstalling the app or clearing its data permanently removes it from the app. We cannot recover deleted data, as we never held a copy. Files you previously exported are controlled by you and must be deleted from the location where you saved or shared them.
8. Children
ATHEON is not directed at children under the age of 16 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). As ATHEON collects no personal data on any server, it does not knowingly process children's data remotely; any data remains solely on the device under the device owner's control.
9. Security
Your data is protected primarily by your own device's security (lock screen, OS-level app sandboxing, and storage protections). Because no data is transmitted off-device by ATHEON except through an export you explicitly initiate, there is no transmission or server-side storage for an attacker to intercept through the app. Keep your device and operating system updated, and protect any exported files, to maintain this protection.
10. International users
ATHEON is available to users in multiple regions, including the EU/EEA, the UK, and the US. Because MCVC does not receive your data, there are no international data transfers by MCVC to assess — your app data stays in your physical possession unless you explicitly export it to a destination you choose.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected in-app and by updating the "Effective Date" above.
